Record breaking day for Gaelic Games

By 10th December 2012January 8th, 2020No Comments

We’re delighed to announce some great news. The Guinness Book of Records has officially confirmed that the new world record for  the largest ever Gaelic Football training session is now held by Na Fianna. It’s a great result for the record breaking day.  The official confirmation is  a testament to the sucess of the 2012 Global Gaelic Challenge. The day was proudly sponsored by Experience Gaelic Games in Dublin. The event was great fun and superbly organised and attended. It was a pleasure to be associated with the attempt. The turnout on the day was fantastic with kids all over the pitch. There have been some lovely aerial shots which appeared in Na Fianna Nuacht. It was great to see our urban community acting  in such a close knit fashion.  As the club has over 2600 members it’s not often that we get a chance to get a big lot of us all together. When a club call issues  it could  almost be a record breaking  day every time!

Check out the video it just gives a flavour of the happenings on the day.  Featuring in the video cast of over a thousand there are appearances by Uachtarán CLG – Liam O’Neill, Dublin First Citizen and Lord Mayor, Cllr Andrew Montague and our very own Dublin senior footballer Jonny Cooper.

Well done to all involved especially the one and only record breaking organiser Stephen Behan.
