Ronan O’Connell, World Nomads contributor recently learnt that handling a sliotar (ball) and hurl was not as straight forward as he thought!
Ronan, who grew up in Australia, was fairly competent at Gaelic football after years of playing Australian Rules Football. Some historians believe was influenced by Gaelic football. However, hurling was a bit of a mystery to him.
Ronan and his wife, alongside an American family took part in a three-hour lesson with Experience Gaelic Games. Like all our guests, they learnt about the history and rules of gaelic games. Experience Gaelic Games very own Cormac O’Donnchú prepared Ronan for a crash course in Gaelic Games. All before taking to the pitch in the Na Fianna Gaelic Club.
