From College Football to Gaelic Games: Welcoming Our American Visitors to Dublin

Dublin has been buzzing with excitement as we kicked off the opening game of the College Football season right here in Ireland’s capital. This year, Experience Gaelic Games had the incredible honour of hosting both teams in the lead-up to their big clash at the Aviva Stadium.

Before stepping onto the football field, the players traded their familiar gear for hurles and Gaelic footballs, diving into Ireland’s native games. The teams got a true taste of Ireland’s ancient sporting traditions, learning the skills of Hurling and Gaelic Football, and discovering the unique history, heritage, and sense of community that lies at the heart of the GAA.

For us, it was more than just a training session! It was about sharing what makes Ireland special. Gaelic Games aren’t simply sports; they are living traditions that connect communities across the country, passed down through generations and played with a passion that’s unmistakably Irish.

Looking Ahead: The NFL Comes to Dublin

The excitement doesn’t stop there. Later this month, Dublin will make history by hosting our first-ever NFL game and where better than Croke Park, Ireland’s national GAA stadium and the proud home of Gaelic Games.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to see American football take centre stage in the very same stadium where Hurling and Gaelic Football have been played for so many years.

We’re delighted to announce that Experience Gaelic Games will be part of the official Tailgate Party in Fairview Park! Vikings and Steelers fans will get the chance to try their hand at our truly Irish sports, the games we’re so proud and passionate about here on the Island.

An Invitation to Our American Visitors

As we look forward to welcoming even more American visitors in the weeks ahead, we’d love for you to experience Ireland in a way that goes beyond sightseeing.
